Beacons Open Track Season at Linfield Icebreaker

Eugene, OR - The Northwest Christian College distance track program officially got underway on Saturday in the Linfield Icebreaker event. The Beacons gave themselves a strong stepping stone from which to move forward in their inaugural event.
Jessica Rose set the pace in the 5000 meter run, finishing in 15th place at 20:49. On the men’s side, Brandon Kundert began his NCC athletic career with a 12th place showing in the 5k at 16:29. Jason Bell followed in 15th place, running at a 16:54 clip.
Former Beacon soccer and basketball player Bethany Howard began her track career in the 1500, taking 13th place with a time of 5:20. Emily Baynes followed at 5:27, good for 15th place.
Also competing for the men were Josh Waring in the 800m (2:20, 29th) and Sam Robison in the 1500m (4:27, 19th).
The Beacons will be back on the track on April 4th when they compete in the Willamette Invitational.
