Women Take Second at Conference Event

Eugene, OR  - Ashley King shot a final round 85, giving Northwest Christian College a second place finish at the CCC event taking place at Diamond Woods GC in Monroe. The Beacons topped Corban College by 110 strokes in the third CCC tournament, scoring for the first time as a complete team.

 

Reanna Huston took 8th place firing a 97 in the third round for a final score of 301. Jordie Howell followed in 10th place with a 310 after a 103 today. Colleen Koopal rounded out the scoring in 14th with a 110 on Tuesday completing a three-round total score of 338.

 

The men’s team did not place in the tournament after Jeremy Chappell had to withdraw before the start of today’s third round due to strep throat, leaving the Beacons with just three golfers. Individually, Justin Ahrens took third and Brent McKee fourth after both golfers carded 75 for the final round. Jordan Whittenburg took 18th place after an 89 bumped his stroke total to 260 for the tournament.

 

The men’s and women’s golf teams will be back in action at Tokatee GC on April 7th and 8th for the final CCC tournament, hosted by Northwest Christian College. Prior to that the men’s team will take to the greens at the Corban College Invitational, April 5th at the OGA golf course in Woodburn.
