I am a graduate of Northwest Christian University, and have worked in the Kellenberger library at NCU since 1995. I have been the library director since 2006. I previously served in music ministry positions in Disciples of Christ congregations throughout the Pacific Northwest for many years, leading choral choirs, handbell choirs, youth choirs, and contemporary music teams, as well as providing piano music for weddings and other events. Although no longer in a paid ministry position, I still volunteer in music and worship leadership at Bethesda Lutheran Church, where my family and I have attended since 1998.
I have a passion for uncensored access to information and for the need for information literacy skills for all (the ability to effectively access, evaluate, and use information). In striving to meet the needs of library users, I continually inform myself about the work and study habits, needs, expectations, and typical behaviors of our user groups, from “millenials” to “older, wiser learners.” I am the institutional caretaker for the university archives, museum, and our amazing collection of rare books and Bibles, and love to show our Bibles and talk about the history of the English Bible with classes, groups, and visitors.
