Accounting

The Bachelor of Arts in Accounting is designed for working adults at the entry-level of accounting or management who want to expand their knowledge, skills, and abilities in the area of accounting and how accounting and management principles can be used to improve the operation, effectiveness and efficiency of an organization.  The purpose of the program is to assist students in the study and integration of accounting theory and practice in a variety of organizations and industries.

 

The Professional Studies Program in Accounting seeks to achieve the following objectives:

 

  • Students will become acquainted with the current trends in accounting and management, the leading sources of accounting information, current publications, and other available resources, both in text and on the Internet.
  • Students will integrate all aspects of their learning, understanding, knowledge, and skill concerning accounting and management in a capstone Advanced Accounting course.
  • Students will acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the core principles and concepts of business management in the following functional areas: general management theory and practice, quantitative methods, accounting, and organizational communications.
  • Students will acquire knowledge and an understanding of Christian ethics in management and accounting as well as the role of Christian leadership and service.
