Interdisciplinary Studies

Not finding your niche or a degree that fits you exactly? The Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies allows you to pursue an interdisciplinary theme of study that you create in substitution for a traditional major. You will work with a faculty advisor who assists in constructing a program of coursework that will meet your academic goals. This program gives you the opportunity to pursue topics of study tailored to meet your individual interests and needs. An easy way out? Not at all. This major is not for the faint of heart. Your part in choosing a scope of study is active, not passive—as you must actively plan your own program and cultivate a working relationship with the assigned or chosen faculty adviser.

If you can’t decide on a major in any one of the offered disciplines , this is a great solution for you. It’s also excellent preparation for graduate school or seminary, where you will be personally required to focus your study. The Interdisciplinary Studies major is offered in and environment where a Christian and liberal arts foundation ensures that your personal course of study is integrated with your faith and ethics.

The Interdisciplinary Studies Major is not for the faint of heart. Students must be active in choosing a course of study and disciplined in cultivating a working relationship with an advisor.
