Northwest Christian College Overview:

 

Northwest Christian College is a Christian, private, liberal-arts, comprehensive college closely affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ – approximately 15% of NCC’s students are from these two church bodies. Northwest Christian College also has an ecumenical interest and offers its resources to students and congregations of many church traditions.  These students are affiliated with denominational and non-denominational groups, such as Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist, Foursquare, Lutheran, Nazarene, Episcopal, Assembly of God, Catholic, and Community Churches. The College was founded in 1895 and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.  Located in the city of Eugene, Oregon - population 145,000 (one hour from the Coast, one hour from the Cascade Mountains, ninety minutes south of Portland). Northwest Christian College enrolls an undergraduate and graduate student body of 500 students (150 residential). Northwest Christian College was most recently ranked by U.S. News and World Report fifteen overall among forty comprehensive Colleges in the Western Region.  This is an exciting time in NCC’s history with the college planning for enrollment growth, additional buildings, and renovations

 

 

 

Job Summary:  This faculty position is part of a growing, dynamic professional faculty teaching business and management to traditional day students and a large evening degree completion program and graduate program.  This position will oversee and deliver marketing courses in all programs of the department.  Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the desire to support the mission of NCC are paramount in this position.  The position also requires a strong commitment to multiculturalism and diversity.

 

Position Duties and Responsibilities: 

-        Teach a 1.0 FTE load (24 semester credits per academic year, maximum) in appropriate areas of expertise in the Department of Business and Management.

 

-        Oversee the ongoing marketing courses for both the Business and Management core courses and for the marketing concentration.

 

-        Teach marketing in the traditional day program, the evening PSP, and the MBA program.

 

-        Evaluate current courses and develop new courses in marketing as needed in all programs.

 

-        Participate in academic advising and committee assignments as requested.

 

-        Evaluates and recommends to the Dean acquisitions needed for library support of the marketing and related programs.

 

-        Actively participate in marketing the various programs of the department as well and forming partnerships with colleagues and students.

 

-        Contribute to the evaluation of the curriculum and instruction ensuring the delivery of quality academic programs.

 

-        Contribute to the innovative delivery of education in the classroom and other learning venues.

 

-        Contribute to the development of the academic calendar.

 

-        Interact with the registrar’s office in transcript evaluation and recording of student progress.

 

-        Contribute to the integration of faith and learning by addressing this issue in class and in curriculum standards.

 

-     Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience and Qualification Requirements:

Earned doctorate required.  PhD candidates may be considered, subject to the approval of a timetable for completion of the degree.  Teaching experience required.  Competence to teach bachelor’s or graduate courses in marketing, management, organization theory, and other business topics.  Ability to utilize Windows based software including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.  Experience utilizing email for the purposes of organizational communications
