THE PLASTIC, FANTASTIC HOLGA PHOTO WORKSHOP
WINSTED, CT - June 9, 2017- Release your creative spirit with the Holga camera! The Holga, an inexpensive plastic camera is used by photographers around the world and has achieved cult status. Simple to use, the Holga can produce unexpected results that often amaze in ways that “high end” film and digital cameras can’t.
The Center for Workforce Development at Northwestern Connecticut Community College will be offering The Plastic, Fantastic Holga photo workshop that will meet on Saturdays, July 8, 15, & 22 from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. Cost: $149.00.
Over three sessions you will learn to shoot with the Holga, as well as develop your film, and print photographic images from your negatives. A Holga camera, 2 rolls of film, photographic paper, and chemicals will be provided. This workshop is suitable for people with no photography experience, as well as seasoned professionals.
Workshop Instructor, Michael Yurgeles (www.yurgeles.net) has been a teacher of visual arts for 30 years. He earned an M.F.A. in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design, and lives in Torrington, Connecticut with his wife Nancy, two dogs, a cat, an iguana, and a guinea pig.
