University of Oregon Professor presents a lecture on Hinduism at Northwest Christian College

 EUGENE, Ore. – October 2, 2006-Northwest Christian College-

Veena Howard will lecture on “A Hindu Views Hinduism” at Northwest Christian College, 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2006, in the Martha Goodrich Administration Building, Room 203.  The lecture will address the basic doctrines and practices of the Hindu faith and will include Professor Howard’s personal reflections on Hinduism and its many facets.

Veena Rani Howard teaches Hinduism and other religions of India at Lane Community College and the University of Oregon. She has given papers at several conferences including the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics, Vedanta International, and East West Philosophers’ Conference. She has translated two books by renowned Hindu sages into English and is currently working on her postgraduate degree at Lancaster University, U.K.
