Hazardous Materials Accident

Departments that use or handle hazardous materials must have MSDS readily available. All hazardous materials must be properly labeled.

Action Steps:

1. Unless properly trained, do not attempt to clean up a hazardous spill. Call the Physical Plant at 541-684-7273.
2. If possible, confine the fumes or fire by shutting the door to the room.
3. Sound the building fire alarm. Begin evacuation procedures.
4. Call 9-9-1-1 and/or Campus Security at 541-517-5197.
5. Give your name and location, do not hang up.

Suspected gas leaks or suspicious odors should be reported to the Physical Plant at 541-684-7273 and/or Campus Security at 541-517-5197.
