Action Steps

1. If indoors, stay there. Get under a desk or table or stand in a corner or doorway. Stay away from windows, shelves, and heavy equipment. Do not use elevators.
2. If outdoors, get into an open area away from trees, buildings, walls and downed power lines.
3. If driving, pull over to the side of the road and stop. Avoid overpasses and downed power lines. Stay inside your vehicle until the shaking is over.
4. If in a crowded place, do not rush for the doors. Move away from shelves containing objects that could fall.
5. After shocks subside, evacuate to a safe location away from buildings, trees and downed electrical wires - Morse Event Center parking lot or a grassy Quad area are best.
6. Follow evacuation procedures.
7. Call 541-517-5197 and/or 9-9-1-1.
8. Do not return to a building until instructed by a college official.
