Northwest Christian University is pleased to announce a partnership with student health insurance provider United Healthcare. United Healthcare has a long reputation serving students healthcare needs. A major factor in the decision to change was the fact that United Healthcare offers a “one-stop-shop” approach. The partnership affords the convenience of having the underwriter, claims processing, and account executive within the same company structure. Other opportunities allowed are 24/7 online account access; a 24 hour nurse line; and medical assistance for overseas travel, to name a few.
To ensure that each student has adequate healthcare insurance students are required to complete a WAIVER CARD located on a website to be announced at a later time. The WAIVER CARD asks for current insurance information from the student. If adequate information is NOT provided, a charge will be placed on the students account AND the student will be automatically enrolled in the insurance policy. Even if the student does not have current coverage a completed WAIVER CARD is still required for enrollment purposes.
At present time the final touches will be in place for a smooth implementation by August 1st, 2008. A link to a website will be announced in July to provide additional information. Brochures describing the specifics of the plan will be available soon as well.
