Campus Pastor Steve Poetzl will lead a team of 12 students on the Israel mission trip in May 2008. With a balance of ministry and educational sightseeing, Northwest Christian University students will bless others and be equally blessed as they walk the same land that Jesus walked 2000 years ago during a two-week excursion.
May 14th, 2008 marks the 60th anniversary of Israel's statehood, granted by a mandate from the League of Nations in 1948. Coinciding with that event, students will see the Holy Land, but they won't just be tourists. While most tour groups choose to stay in 5-star hotels and dine in fancy restaurants, the Northwest Christian University team will stay in a hostel in old-town Jerusalem, making trips into local markets to buy picnic-style food.
The Israel experience is geared toward loving the Jewish people and forming relationships with them. We hope to partner with a few local ministry sites to assist in soup kitchens and clothing drives. We want to find ways to love on the people there as a way to counteract the persecution the Jewish people have been facing for centuries. Not only do we want to walk where Jesus walked, we want to touch who Jesus touched.
You are invited to partner with the Israel Missions Team in both prayer support and financial support. Please pray for this experience to have an impact on our campus, the lives of those we'll meet overseas, and the future of our students.
