WINSTED, CT – October 23, 2018 – Northwestern Connecticut Community College’s Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education is offering “Basic Drawing” for serious beginners and those with intermediate drawing skills, as well as art students in need of sharpening their drawing techniques; taught by artist and art instructor Maurice Casas. The art class is about learning the importance of knowing and understanding the difference between looking and observing, to create and draw with great accuracy.

Students will learn some techniques that are absolutely necessary to observe and draw with almost perfect accuracy. Students will learn about the importance of understanding their subject and how to perceive it; how to make the fundamental mental shift vital to unleashing their creative side; how to stay in creative mode, connected and fully engaged with their subject. Students will also learn about the importance of measuring and how to do it.

Six classes will meet on Tuesday evenings 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, from November 13, 2018 to December 18, 2018, in the Art and Science Center (ASB, Room 304), Holabird Avenue, Lot D, on the NCCC campus. Cost: $120.00 per person.
