Northwestern Gallery Hosts Alumnus Joseph Clarke
Winsted, CT –Northwestern Community College proudly presents artist Joseph Clarke in The Gallery at Founder’s Hall from March 20 through April 13, 2023. An opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, March 23, 4 to 6 p.m. Both the gallery and the reception are open to the public.
Clarke is a Connecticut-based artist living in Litchfield County. He is a 2015 alumnus of Northwestern and is part of the gallery’s Alumni Focus Series.
Since graduating from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford in 2018, Clarke has been producing large, colorful works that he describes as action sculptures. He is the associate director at Furnace Art on Paper Archive located in Falls Village, CT where he works alongside artist and gallerist Kathleen Kucka. Over the past five years, he has worked with many artists in the tri-state area. “After college, the best thing I could have done was to work with professional artists in their studios,” he says. The Gallery at Founders Hall is located at 4 Park Place, Winsted. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about the exhibit please contact Gallery Coordinator Deb Kline at dkline@nwcc.edu.
